The SC/ST Committee has been constituted in accordance with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Bar Council of India (BCI), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 to safeguard the rights and welfare of students, faculty, and staff belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST).
Objectives
- Promote equality, dignity, and social justice on campus.
- Ensure that SC/ST students receive equal opportunities in academics and campus activities.
- Address complaints related to discrimination, harassment, or unfair treatment.
- Create awareness about the constitutional rights and welfare schemes available for SC/ST communities.
- Foster an environment of mutual respect and inclusivity.
Responsibilities of the Committee
- Address grievances related to caste-based discrimination or harassment.
- Recommend appropriate action in accordance with institutional policies and statutory regulations.
- Monitor the effective implementation of government policies and reservation guidelines.
- Conduct awareness programmes, workshops, and sensitization sessions on equality and inclusion.
- Guide eligible students regarding scholarships, financial assistance, and welfare schemes.
- Promote a campus culture free from discrimination and prejudice.

Complaint & Support
Any student, faculty member, or staff belonging to the SC/ST community who experiences discrimination, harassment, or denial of rights may approach the SC/ST Committee. All complaints are handled with confidentiality, fairness, and impartiality, ensuring timely resolution while protecting the dignity of the complainant.
