Overview

The Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT) is a 3-year undergraduate program that trains students to perform diagnostic tests on patient samples, manage laboratory equipment, and interpret test results to aid in disease diagnosis and treatment. The curriculum covers areas such as pathology, microbiology, hematology, and biochemistry, combining theoretical knowledge with extensive hands-on training to produce skilled medical laboratory professionals for hospitals and diagnostic centers.

Duration: Typically a 3 Year Degree with 6 Months internship.

  • Anatomy and Physiology: The basic structure and function of the human body.
  • Pathology: The study of diseases and their causes, processes, and effects.
  • Microbiology: Identification of microorganisms and the study of infectious diseases.
  • Hematology: The study of blood, blood cells, and blood-related disorders.
  • Biochemistry: The chemical analysis of body fluids for diagnostic purposes.
  • Immunology and Serology: The study of the immune system and the detection of antibodies.
  • Histopathology: Microscopic examination of tissues to diagnose diseases.

Eligibility: You must have completed 10+2 with a science stream, typically with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) as core subjects.
